Dialogue 1

A         : Doko e ikimasu ka. Where are you going?
B         : Gakkō e ikimasu. (I’m going) to school.
A         : Nan de ikimasu ka. How are you going (to school)
B         : Jitensha de ikimasu. On a bicycle.

Dialogue 2

A         : Anata wa nan de jimusho e ikimasu ka. How do you go to the office?
B         : Densha de ikimasu. By train.
A         : Jimusho wa eki kara tōi desu ka. Is your office far from the station?
B         : Iie, chikai desu. No, it’s near.

Dialogue 3

A         : Anata no inaka wa doko desu ka. Where is your hometown?
B         : Kyoto desu. Kyoto.
A         : Itsu Kyoto e kaerimasu ka. When are you going back to Kyoto?
B         : Asatte kaerimasu. Tomorrow (I’m) going back.


Questions and answers

  1. Anata no inaka wa doko desu ka. Where is your home town?
à Sapporo desu. Sapporo.

  1. Nan de gakkō e ikimasu ka. How do you go to school?
à Basu de ikimasu. By bus.

  1. Dare to gakkō e ikimasu ka. With whom do you go to school?
à Hiroshi san to ikimasu. I go with Hiroshi.

  1. Dare to Tokyo e ikimasu ka. With whom are you going to Tokyo?
à Hitori de ikimasu. I’m going alone.

  1. Ashita doko e ikimasu ka. Where are you going tomorrow?
à Umi e ikimasu. (I’m) going to the beach.
